Advanced mode

April 2024

To access the player's advanced mode, simply click the icon at the top left or press the "P" command on the keyboard or the note "D#3" on your midi controller. Here are annotated screenshots of the 5 interfaces offered on each version of the player.

  • 00_BPM: Displays the current BPM. In order to give another value, define it directly on the REAKTOR « clock tempo » available on middle top of the GUI (on the right of the PLAY button). Note : when the player is opened as a plugin, the clock engine is synced to the one defined inside your DAW.
    • 01 _ PLAY/STOP: Indicates the status of the playback, whether the player is playing or stopped. In order to control the playback, click the REAKTOR play command (top middle bar) which controls everything. For direct PLAY/STOP control, press the space bar. Space bar can also be used in order to restart the song from the beginning.
      • 02 _ RELOAD/RESTART: Allows you to reload the song with all its tracks at the starting point. Note: this does not affect previously modified effect parameters and does not cause the song to be reset to its default state.
        • 03 _ TRACK SELECTOR: Title of the song & STEMS suite loaded into the player. Change and select the STEMS suite that is currently playing.
          • 04 _ DISPLAY TRACKS: Shows all waveforms and timelines of the 4 tracks.
            • 05 _CUE: Press this button in order to recall the last position of the playhead or the start point of the REPEAT/LOOP A. This command don’t behave as a classic « cue point parameters ». It aims to create kind of stutter/repeat effect when you press it several times.
              • 06 _ DANGER: When pressed, it generates 100% of random values on some selected parameters. To be used when you want to create alternative settings or kind of generative sounds based on the song.
                • 07 _ WARP/PITCH: When the BPM of the song is set with a playback speed below or below its base value, this command allows you to preserve the original pitch value of each tracks.
                  • 08 _ FAST +: Gradually increases the playback speed.
                    • 09 _SLOW -: Gradually reduces the playback speed.
                      • 10 _ REVERSE: Instant playback of all the tracks in reverse. Press « B » on your computer keyboard.
                        • 11 _ FILTER SWITCH: Enables the filtering settings of each tracks.
                          • 12 _ BALANCE SWITCH: Enables the stereo balances settings of each tracks.
                            • 13 _ SCRATCH: Emulates the effect of scratched vinyl. Moving the slider will produce various scratch effects. A short range of this effect can also be obtained by pressing the « Z » (or »W ») key on the computer keyboard (standalone)
                              • 14 _ ASSIGN TRACK TO SCRATCH: These 4 switches allow to select tracks that can be subject to scratch modulation.
                                • 15 _ MAIN VOLUME: Control the main output gain of the audio engine (tracks+effects).
                                  • 16 _ MIXER: Adjusts the volume of the 4 tracks. In standalone, press the Q-W-E-R (or A-Z-E-R) keys of the computer keyboard to instantly mute each tracks.
                                    • 17 _ MIXER tab selector: First tab displays the 4 tracks mixer. Second one is the level of effect injected for each tracks.Third one shows filters (LP/HP) of each tracks. Fourth one gives access to the stereo balance of each tracks. Note: FILTERS and BALANCES settings can only be heard if the FILTER and BALANCES switches are enabled.
                                      • 18 _ PLAYHEAD POSITION: This slider has two functions: The first is to control the position of the playhead in real time, and thus navigate through the songs. This command is also used to select the cue point of looper B (micro gesture looper).
                                        • 19 _ GRAIN STRETCH: Time stretching effect. The higher the value, the longer the stretching time, without modifying the original pitch. Applies to all tracks. Note: It is recommended to apply it occasionally as a momentary effect, for example during the playback of a loop, so as not to lose overall synchronization.
                                          • 20 _ LOOP A: Instant loop creation. The starting point is defined in real time by the current position of the playhead.
                                            • 21 _ LOOP A LENGTH: Defines the length of the loop in numbers of bars ( 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 48, 64) Note: move it in realtime in order to create kind of stutter effects.
                                              • 22 _ LOOP A RND: Completely dislocates the playback of the loop currently in play, by randomly changing its starting point. Be careful, the resulted slices are not quantized and therefore the rendering can be more chaotic than expected.
                                                • 23 _ LOOP B (micro looper): Activates a secondary looper which has as its starting point the position selected on the PLAYHEAD POSITION selector. More handy than the looper A, it is possible to twist the selected portion over shorter times (like a micro-looper). The loop length is controlled by the XY pad ({}). Note: both LOOP A & B cannot be used simultaneously.
                                                  • 24 _ LOOP B PAD: This XY pad aims to select the value of the loop length, quantized in a grid. This pad enables the recording of several gestures to twist the length values. This modulation is automatically recorded and replicated when the LOOP B PLAY/PAUSE button is activated.
                                                    • 25 _ LOOP B PLAY/PAUSE: Activates the recording and playback of the related XY pad modulation.
                                                      • 26 _ EFFECT XY PAD x3: Control 2 parameters of the effect on a XY pad. The value can be fixed but also can be an evolved modulation, based on the movement of the cursor recorded on the surface of the pad. In order to record and apply continuously this modulation, the related PLAY/PAUSE button must be enabled.
                                                        • 27 _FX/MOD PLAY/PAUSE: Activates the recording and playback of the related XY pad modulation.
                                                          • 28 _FX DOSE: Defines the amount of effect injected into the audio signal (same as a DRY/WET knob). Note : The travel of this parameter can be initiated via MIDI or by the computer keyboard. This same travel is pre-calibrated in its rise and fall by an AR envelope.
                                                            • 29 _BPM SET: ECLO.RE player is not featured with a BPM detection system. The BPM of the song and related tracks must be set manually. If you want to use the player with your own STEMS, you need to click here, a pop window will override the mixer section and displays several BPM lines per song to configure. Don’t touch this values if you don’t need it.

Note that all of these instructions can be displayed in the interface by pointing for a few seconds on each parameter. To do this, check that the “Show Info Hints” button is activated (underlined in red in the above screenshot of the REAKTOR topbar).

Just as they do not have the same interface, the 5 players do not have the same suite of effects. Here is a summary tables of the 2 parameters available for each of the 3 different effects assigned to their respective player.
