Load custom STEMS

At this level, as you may have experienced it, through these different functions, this player is very similar to a 4-track mini DAW. Thanks to the 'sample map editor' tool in REAKTOR, it is possible to import your own audio STEMS and play your song through the ECLO.RE player. But before anything, some groundwork must be achieved because ECLO.RE player is not featured with a BPM detection system.

PREPARING AUDIO TRACKS

First of all, here are some important details before exporting tracks from your DAW, with the aim of then being imported into REAKTOR:

  • Create 4 groups of tracks to export, according to your taste or inspiration. For example, by grouping the rhythmic parts on one of the exports, another export with some melodic elements, etc.
  • beforehand, the 4 rendered audio files must be converted into a loop. This, whatever their length.

In order to process this, the end point of the songs must be selected on one line of the temporal grid. This same timeline grid in direct sync with the BPM of the song project. The idea is that the final file can be interpreted as a loop.

Obviously even if some fragments of your tracks are empty, each track must have the same starting point and the same ending point, in order to obtain 4 audio files with the same duration. Note : Write down or remember the BPM value of your song project, you will have to fill it later.

IMPORTING AUDIO TRACKS

Now that your 4 tracks are rendered and ready, in REAKTOR topbar, click "Show Sample Map Editor" icon (underline in the screenshot below) or press "F6" in order to display the "Sample Map Editor".

Step 1 : ECLO.RE Player is based on 4 sampler modules and each module are listed inside this Sample Map editor. Here this module are called DECK 1, 2, 3 & 4.  Start with the first module called DECK 1 in order to load the first track of your song.

Step 2 : Select the first track mapped to location "0" (at the beginning of the virtual keyboard) and click "Replace".

In your browser, select one of your rendered tracks, and open it. The first STEM have been replaced.

Step 3 : In the same line of these same track, double click on the value "00" and replace it by "60". After this, click on the "Waveform" tab and make sure that "Loop" is enable ( underlined in red in the screen shot below).

At this stage, repeat steps 1,2 and 3 with the other DECKS 2,3 and 4.

Step 4 : Inside the ECLO.RE Player "advanced mode" interface, locate the BPM indicator on the bottom of the GUI. Click over "BPM" and a pop up window will be displayed over the mixer.

Now, taking into account that you have imported the 4 STEMS with location "0" of the virtual keyboard, they are therefore all assigned to the first song. On the "TRACK 1" line, set the BPM value of your song.

Then in REAKTOR snapshot manager, you only have to save this new setting. Click "Store" and validate. (Click "Add" and validate in order to create a new preset, but this will not be selectable via the "Song Selector") . Save a copy "as" of your ensemble and now you are ready to smash and remix your music.
