Over-played? Included quite simply because, like many before me, Amen Break is probably the most used sample of all time! Amen! Amen! Because it is certain that God welcomed Gregory Coleman among all the saints of rhythm.
Otherwise, nothing new here, in this crazy genre explored a thousand times, but in 2004, even after the feats of Sir Tom Jenkinson, Bogdan Raczynski & co, it was too tempting to embark on this stylistic exercise just for fun and to allow myself a little getaway into this “drill n bass” funfair.
It's a bit like the EP of this undisciplined child who discovered his first "stutter" effect plugin. A toy that he will use until he is no longer thirsty.
With this type of well-sliced samples and at this average execution speed of around 200 BPM, this is an open door for craziness as it's possible to insert almost anything and everything! We can go from melancholic to grotesque, something that happens on its own all the time, specifically if you intend to get bodies moving and, above all, to laugh unhindered by inhibition. I must admit that I may have listened to the sound riots of the Rephlex crew a bit much. It would be a mistake to apologize for it. So long live Fungle!!
